InboxSift Briefing: the few things you need to do and know

Not another inbox. A short list.

If Briefing looks like Gmail with nicer fonts, it failed. It should read like a note to yourself: Reply — confirm the meeting. Package delivered. Twelve other emails can wait.

Act lines

Good Act copy starts with a verb and the thing to do. Bad Act copy restates the subject line. If a reasonable verb line does not exist, the mail is probably Know, not Act.

Know facts

One fact per item. Room 204. $14.99. Gate B12. Extra sentences belong in the original email, which is one click away.

Noise is a count, not a shame pile

You can open Noise when you want to unsubscribe or hunt a promo code. You should not have to wade through it to find homework.

Mail never leaves Gmail

Checking an item off Briefing does not delete the thread. InboxSift is an overlay. Gmail remains the store.

Frequently asked questions

How many emails does Briefing cover?
It loads recent Inbox mail (on the order of the latest hundred), not your entire archive.
Does Morning Briefing email me?
Yes. At the time you pick in Settings, InboxSift emails you the Action items that need a response. That mail comes from InboxSift’s mailbox, not as a send from your Gmail. Chrome should be around that time so the list is current.
Can I use Briefing on my phone?
InboxSift is a Chrome extension for Gmail in the browser. Mobile Gmail does not run the overlay. The morning email still arrives in whatever inbox you use on your phone.
