Teach InboxSift your contacts: Always Act, Know, or Noise

The model proposes. You set the people who matter.

A classifier that cannot be taught will keep surfacing LinkedIn. InboxSift stores per-sender handling locally so Briefing matches how you already treat people.

The four handling modes

Always Act: this person or system is a task source. Always Know: never Noise; Act only for a real ask. Always Noise: stay out of Briefing unless you change it. Let InboxSift decide: model plus guardrails.

Relationships are a weak prior

Marking someone Important should not hide a newsletter they somehow forwarded, and marking a vendor Automated should not hide an invoice due tomorrow. Handling is stronger than a soft relationship label.

Stored on your device

Contact preferences live in Chrome extension storage, keyed by account. They are not a public social graph.

Frequently asked questions

Is Always Noise the same as a Gmail block?
No. Mail still arrives in Gmail. InboxSift just keeps it out of Briefing.
